PUK D2

“For many years, I have been running a dental laboratory with five people. Two years ago, I purchased a spot welding machine from Advantage. The main reason was my growing despair in solving problems with the deficiencies in casting the frameworks of larger denture work. These primarily included twisted frameworks. Until then, I addressed the issue by cutting, comparing and then repeated flame soldering, which lead to various failures (burning of thin frameworks, scorching of the entire surroundings, and I rather did not think about changing the homogeneity of the metal).”

“I started to look for different welding methods and came up with a single variant. Laser! Soon I calculated its bad investment return, which led me to an alternative – PUK D2. Laboratory catalogues offer a similar machine, but that one costs a few tens of thousands CZK more than the one from Advantage and it is for a laboratory as well. Unfortunately, I did not have an opportunity to compare it with a laser welding machine.
As I mentioned, the greatest benefit is first aid in cases of casting deficiencies. You can connect and seal most holes and porosities that are bothering us mainly under the porcelain. You can re-cast misrun castings and connect them with a weld, etc. When repairing partial dentures, you can weld-on retention for individual teeth even from a CRCO wire, repair cracks of cast iron without burning surrounding resins. You can repair a bridge cut by a doctor, again without burning the veneer.
The joints must always fit tightly on each other, welding is based on the principle of melting the two parts to be joined (no solder). Larger gaps are filled with a portion of the same alloy.
On the device, I always select the intensity and the discharge depth. Furthermore, I choose the strength of the metal, whether it is a wire and many other parameters.
I got quickly acquainted with the device and came to like it. In the whole laboratory, I repair not only denture work, but also jewellery products. Even this is easy for PUK D2. It is true more than anywhere else that the more I work with it, the more I am confident with my work and the better results I get.
It should be noted that the device must have its permanent place, because it is connected to an argon cylinder.”
